Our workshop is located at L1 and L2 in the G.M.I.E. area of Miraj. It’s an industrial estate, so it’s not the prettiest place to visit, but it works well for what we do. We have a fair amount of space across the two units to keep the porcelain work going. There is usually a lot of heat coming from the kilns, and the smell of clay and minerals is always in the air. We don't have a separate office building; our desks are just tucked into a corner of the main work floor where we can keep an eye on everything. It’s a bit noisy with the machinery running, and you have to speak up to be heard. Most of us here have been doing this for a long time, so we know the rhythm of the place. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. People usually find us because they know the industrial estate or they’ve heard about us from others in the trade. The floors are usually covered in a fine white dust, which is just part of the job when you work with porcelain. We just focus on getting the pieces fired correctly and packed up so they don't break. It’s practical, everyday work. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the fanciest, just a steady operation in Miraj that gets the job done.
