SHRIDATTKRUPA URBAN MULTISTATE NIDHI

Our office is set up at Abasaheb Hariba Savant's house, which is number 1010 in the village of Banali. It is a quiet spot in Jath taluka within the Sangli district. We aren't a big corporation with fancy glass windows or marble floors. It’s just a simple room where we sit and handle the money matters for people nearby. Shridattkrupa Urban Multistate Nidhi is what it says on our small board. Most people around here know the Savant house, so finding us isn't too hard once you get into Banali. We spend our days mostly writing in ledgers and talking to neighbors who stop by. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait for it to come back. It gives us time to catch up on local news. The Sangli heat can get a bit much in April, but we have a ceiling fan that does its best. We started this because folks in Jath needed a place they could trust without traveling too far. We don't have any high-tech systems. We just use what we have and try not to make mistakes with the numbers. It’s a lot of manual work and checking things twice. People come in with their passbooks and we fill them out by hand. It’s a slow process but it works for everyone here. We plan to stay in this spot for a long time.
