Shri Danamma Devi Raisin Association

Our association is based in Jath, specifically over in More Colony near the court. It’s a group of us who work together on things related to raisins. We started this because it’s easier to handle the challenges of the trade when you aren't doing it all by yourself. The address is care of Nikam Niramala Mohan’s place. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those big offices you see in the cities. We meet up, talk about the market, and figure out how to handle our crops. Jath is a place where you have to work hard to get results from the soil. We spend a lot of time discussing prices and the quality of the harvest. It’s not always easy to get everyone on the same page, but we try. There’s a lot of tradition in what we do, but we also have to deal with modern problems like transport and storage. We don't use any fancy talk or marketing tricks. We’re just people who know about grapes and raisins. When someone comes by, they’ll likely find us drinking tea and going over the books or talking about the latest weather report. It’s a practical way of doing things. We don't have any grand goals other than making sure we can keep doing our work year after year. It’s about the community here and helping each other out when the season gets tough.
