Prerana Rural Development Foundation

Located right by Hanuman Chowk in Yedenipani, our small office at House Number 392 is where most of us spend our days. It is a quiet spot in Sangli district, far from the big city noise. The mornings here start early with people walking past our door to the market or the fields. Prerana Rural Development Foundation isn't a fancy place with glass walls or shiny desks. It’s just a few rooms where we sit and talk about what needs doing in the village. Sometimes the fans don't work right when it gets really hot, but we manage. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the people and the problems they face with water or farming. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of people who handle the paperwork and meet visitors. The roads get a bit dusty in the summer and muddy when it rains, making the commute from the taluka side a bit slow. We spend a lot of time just listening to what the locals have to say. It’s not always easy work, and sometimes things move slower than we’d like, but that’s just how it goes in rural areas. We focus on the practical side of things, like helping out where we can without making a big fuss about it. If you ever find yourself in Walwa, you’ll see our sign near the chowk. It’s just us doing our bit for the neighborhood.
