Old Mumbai Ice Cream

If you go near the Post Office in Sangli, specifically in the Visharambag area of Tehsil Miraj, you’ll find Old Mumbai Ice Cream. We are right by the SBI Bank, so there are always people walking past our door. It’s a busy corner of town. We’ve been operating from this spot for a while now. The shop is pretty basic. We have the freezers lined up against the wall and a few posters on the glass. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit inside, so most folks just grab their ice cream and keep walking. It gets quite dusty on the main road, so we are constantly wiping down the windows and the counters. Dealing with the bank crowds means we get a lot of people who are just in a hurry. We try to serve them quickly. Some days are long, especially when it stays hot late into the night. We don't have any fancy mission or anything. We just sell ice cream. We buy our stock, keep it frozen, and sell it to whoever is hungry for it. There’s a lot of competition around, but being near the bank helps us stay visible. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we are happy to be part of the local scene here in Visharambag. We see the same faces every week and that makes the days go by a bit faster.
