Nerlekar Bricks And Blocks

Our place, Nerlekar Bricks And Blocks, is right on the main road, Nh-4, near Islampur. It is easy to find because of all the stacks of bricks. We have been here for a good amount of time now. The traffic on the highway never really stops, so there is always a bit of noise and dust. We deal with red bricks and those grey cement blocks too. It is a family thing, mostly. My brother and I are usually out there moving stuff around or talking to the drivers. We are not big on fancy offices. Most of the business happens right there in the yard or over the phone. Sometimes the weather makes it tough to dry the bricks, especially during the monsoon. We just wait it out. People from the local villages and even from the city come by. We try to keep a decent stock so nobody has to wait too long. It is physical work, lifting and loading all day. We have got some old machinery that still runs fine, even if it is a bit loud. The main road keeps us busy, which is good. We are just regular folks trying to make a living. Nothing too complicated about it. We just make sure the blocks are solid and ready to go when someone needs them for their house. We have lived around here our whole lives.
