Our shop is tucked away near the SFC Mega Mall in Khanbhag. If you walk down the lane at number 452, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. There is almost always someone trying out a harmonium or tuning a sitar. We’ve been dealing with instruments for years, and it’s a dusty, hands-on kind of job. The shelves are packed with strings, wood pieces, and tools we use for repairs. It’s not a polished showroom. It’s a workspace where things actually get made and fixed. People come in from all over the neighborhood, sometimes just to chat about music or to get a bridge replaced on their guitar. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor working on instruments. The mall nearby brings in a lot of foot traffic, but we’ve kept our place pretty traditional. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how the wood and wires should behave. Sometimes the smell of varnish is quite strong, but you get used to it. We don't do much advertising; people just know we’re here by word of mouth. It’s a small life, but it’s ours. We keep the doors open through the day, even when it’s quiet. If you need a repair or a new instrument, we just take a look and tell you what can be done. Music is just what we do every day without much fuss.
