Health Department

Our health department office is over in Sangli, Maharashtra. If you are looking for us, we are in the Annapurna building, which is at 1587 Ganeshnagar. It is very close to the swimming tank, so most people use that as a landmark when they are trying to find the place. It is a typical local office where a lot of things happen at once. We have people coming in all day to ask about health records or to get their forms signed. It can get a bit hectic, especially on Monday mornings when everyone seems to show up at the same time. The building itself is older and has that solid feel to it. We have several rooms filled with files and registers because we still do a lot of things on paper here. The staff are all from around Sangli, so there is a lot of local talk going on while we work. We don't have air conditioning, just some ceiling fans that hum all day long. In the summer, it gets pretty warm, but we keep the windows open. It’s just a basic government department setup. There are no fancy decorations or modern furniture. We just have what we need to get the job done for the people in the district. It’s a busy spot but we try to keep things moving as fast as we can given the amount of paperwork we have to handle every day.
