Dnk Foundation

If you’re looking for Dnk Foundation, you’ll have to head out to Yelur in the Walwa Taluka of Sangli district. We are based at House No. 28, which is the home of Namadev Ganapati Kumbhar. It’s a rural area, so things are a bit different here than in the big cities. We don’t have a separate office building. We just work out of the house. It’s a very local operation. We started this foundation to help out our fellow villagers with whatever they might be struggling with. Sometimes that means helping with farming issues, and other times it’s about getting kids into school. We don't have a website or any fancy brochures. Most people in Yelur just know where Namadev lives and they come by when they need something. We sit on the porch or in the main room and talk things through. It’s a simple life and the work we do is just as simple. We aren't looking for awards or big donations from outside. We just use what we have to make things a little better for the people we’ve known our whole lives. The air is fresh out here, but the work can be tough. We take things one day at a time. It’s just how things are done in our part of Sangli. We’re glad to be a part of this community and to help our neighbors as much as we possibly can every day that we are out here.
