Brahmchaitanya Urban Nidhi Limited is based out of Kumbhari in the Jath area of Sangli. We are located at house number 980, which is Annasaheb Nivrutti Surywanshi’s place. It’s a local spot, very much a part of the village life here in the 416404 pin code. Working in a place like Jath means you know everyone’s family and what’s going on in the town. We don’t have a big corporate building or anything like that. It’s more of a home-style office where things are a bit more relaxed. We handle the local accounts and help people with their small savings when they come in after working in the fields or their shops. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the desks. It’s practical work. We aren't trying to be something we're not. We just provide a place for people in Kumbhari to deal with their money matters without having to travel all the way into the bigger cities. The office is simple, with just the basic furniture and our record books. We keep track of everything by hand mostly, or on the old computer when it’s behaving. It gets quiet in the afternoons when the sun is high, but then things pick up again towards the evening. It’s a decent way to spend the day, helping out the people we’ve known our whole lives in this corner of Sangli.
