It is pretty busy here in Mahatma Phule Nagar, mostly because we are so close to the S.T. Depot where all the buses come in and out. You can hear the engines and the conductors shouting most of the day, which becomes a bit of background noise after you have worked here for a few years. Our place is easy to find if you are coming from the Atpadi Post area. It is just a regular shop where we handle our business every day, nothing too special to look at from the outside. We usually get to the shop early to get things ready before the first big wave of travelers and locals starts moving around. The floor needs a lot of sweeping because of all the feet coming through, and we keep the stock organized as best as we can in the back. Sometimes the weather in Atpadi gets really hot, and the overhead fan just pushes the warm air around, but we get through it. We know most of the people who work at the depot and the regulars who pass by on their way home. It’s a practical kind of work we do here, and we don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks as long as we can find what we need. Life moves at its own pace in this part of town, and we are just happy to be part of the local scene here near the station.
