Our site is out in Zaheerabad, in what people call Mahindra Nagar. It’s part of the Sangareddy district, so it’s a bit of a trek from the main city. This is the automotive division, and the scale of the place is quite something. It feels like its own little town with all the workers and the different sections. I work here at A-25, and my days are mostly spent on the plant floor. It is a loud, busy place with a lot of movement. You see trucks carrying parts and finished vehicles going out all day long. The area around the plant has grown a lot because of the factory being here. It’s a hot part of the country, and the sun really beats down on the metal roofs of the sheds. We have our shifts, and they can be long, but there is a sense of community among the people here. We don't really do the corporate talk thing on the floor. We are more concerned with keeping the lines moving and making sure nothing breaks down. The canteen is the main social hub where we catch up over tea and snacks. It’s a practical, hardworking atmosphere. Most of us live nearby, so the factory is a big part of our daily lives. We aren't here for show; we are here to build things and earn a living for our families.
