Veterinary And General Store

Being in Nri Citizens Colony in the Indresham area of Patancheru is interesting because of the mix of people here. We are the Veterinary And General Store, which is a bit of an unusual combination for some folks. People come in for their daily soap or rice, and then someone else asks for something for their dog or a medicine for their cattle. It’s a quiet area compared to the city center, which I like. We don't have a lot of staff, usually just me and one young boy who helps move the heavy sacks of grain. The morning is the busiest time when everyone is getting ready for their day and needs supplies before they head out. I spend a lot of time on the phone with different suppliers trying to get things delivered on time. Sometimes the truck doesn't show up when it should and we have to wait a day or two. The shop is organized but it can get messy when we get new stock delivered all at once on the floor. We have a small wooden counter and a stool where I sit when there are no customers. It’s nice seeing the same people every day and hearing about their families or their pets. We don't have a big neon sign, just a simple hand-painted board above the door. Most people find us because they live right here in the colony. It’s a practical place for practical needs.
