Mastan General Shop

If you live in JP Colony, you’ve probably walked past us at Plot No- 145/68-75. We are right in the middle of things in Patancheru. The shop isn't very big, but we try to pack it full of the things people need every day. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when three or four people are inside at once. We open early because that’s when people are heading to work and need a few things. It’s mostly just us behind the counter, handing out change and stocking the shelves when there’s a quiet moment. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just come in because they know we are here. We get to know the regulars pretty well, like which brand of tea they like or how many eggs they usually buy on a Tuesday. It’s a noisy spot with the traffic outside, but it feels like home to us. The shelves are always being rearranged to make room for new stuff. We don't have a corporate strategy. We just look at what’s running low and order more. It’s simple. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the street, and other days we can't move fast enough. We like being part of the colony. It feels good to be the place where neighbors run into each other while picking up their groceries or some household items.
