Working out of Plot No. 17 in Phase-Iv of the I.D.A. means you get used to the sound of trucks and the smell of metal pretty quickly. Martopearl Alloys Pvt. Ltd. has been part of this industrial area for years. It’s a dusty place, especially when the wind picks up across the open plots. We don’t have a fancy lobby with a water feature. Most of the time, the floor is covered in a bit of grit from the work we do. It’s an honest kind of environment. You wake up, you get to the site, and you stay until the job is finished. Phase-Iv is a bit of a maze if you aren’t familiar with it, but we’ve been here so long we could find our way in the dark. The office part is just a small section partitioned off from the main work area. It’s loud out there, so we’ve learned to talk a bit louder than most people. We’ve got a couple of old desks and some filing cabinets that have seen better days. No one comes here expecting a corporate tour. They come here because they know we’re actually working. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the shifts. It’s hot in the summer, and the shed gets quite cold in the winter months. That’s just how it goes in the I.D.A. We just keep moving and getting the alloys sorted. It's a long day usually.
