Natural Cure

Down here in Sarai Tareen, we run Natural Cure. It’s a bit of a small spot, filled with jars and packets of various herbs and roots. We aren't doctors or anything like that, just people who know what's been used around here for a long time. People come in with all sorts of small complaints. Maybe a cough that won't go or just feeling tired. We show them what we have on the shelves. The smell in here is quite strong, a mix of dried leaves and spices. It's how my grandfather used to run things, and not much has changed since then. We spend a lot of time sorting through the stock we get. Sometimes the shipments are late, which can be a bit of a headache. We don't use fancy packaging. Mostly just plain bags or glass jars. It's a quiet life in this part of town. We open early when the air is still cool. Neighbors often drop by just to chat for a minute while they’re out doing their errands. We don't have a website or anything. If you need us, you just walk in. We keep track of everything in a thick notebook. It's worked for us this long, so we keep at it. The floor is made of old stone and it gets cold in the winter, but we have a small heater. We just keep doing what we've always done. It is a steady way to make a living.
