Maryam Export

We are over at Huoz Katora where Maryam Export has its office. It’s a busy part of town and there is always something going on outside the door. The mornings are usually the quietest time before the shops nearby start opening up their shutters. We show up and get the lights turned on and start the day. There is a lot of dust that comes in from the street so we are always wiping down the desks and the chairs. You can see people carrying bundles and moving carts past the window all day long. Huoz Katora has a specific feel to it that you don't get in other neighborhoods. It’s crowded and narrow but it is where we do our things. Sometimes the mail takes a while to reach us because the streets are a bit of a maze for new delivery guys. We just stand outside and wave them down if we see them looking lost. The walls inside Maryam Export are painted a plain color and we have some old calendars hanging up. It isn't a place for show. It’s just where we sit and handle the daily work. By the time the sun starts going down, the street gets even more crowded with people heading home. We lock up and head out ourselves, usually thinking about what we have to do the next morning. It’s just a regular cycle for us here in this neighborhood.
