Multi Store

Being right near the railway station on Station Road in Brajarajnagar means we see a lot of faces every single day. Some people are just passing through and need a quick bottle of water or a snack, while others are our neighbors who have lived here as long as we have. The shop isn't very large, but we try to keep the shelves full of the things people actually need. It gets quite loud sometimes when the trains come in, but you get used to the noise after a few months. We opened Multi Store because there wasn't a reliable spot right here for the daily essentials. It’s just me and a couple of others working here. We start early in the morning before the first big train arrives and usually stay late. The floor gets a bit dusty with all the foot traffic from the station, so we are always sweeping. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People just know where we are. Sometimes we run out of things if the delivery truck is late, but that's part of running a shop in a town like this. It’s a busy life, honestly. We spend a lot of time talking to travelers about where they are going. It’s interesting to hear their stories while we bag up their groceries. It’s just a simple life here by the tracks, and we are happy to keep the doors open for everyone.
