Our place is in Kuchinda, right by the petrol pump on the main road. The business is run by Biranchi Narayan Kharse. We deal with clothes and retail things, but it’s a very local kind of shop. It isn't one of those places with a big glass front and mannequins everywhere. We just have our stock and a counter. Being near the petrol pump is handy because people stop in when they are filling up their tanks. It’s a busy spot with trucks and cars passing by all the time. This means it gets a bit dusty, but we try to keep the clothes clean. We have boxes of new arrivals that we have to sort through every week. Sometimes it feels like we are running out of space. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. People just see the shop when they drive past. We’ve been part of the Kuchinda community for some time. We know most of the regulars by name. It’s a simple routine of opening up, sweeping the floor, and helping whoever walks in. Sometimes it’s slow, and we just sit and watch the traffic go by. Other times, several people come in at once and it gets a bit hectic. We aren't fancy, just a normal retail spot trying to provide things the local people need without making a big deal about it. We open early and stay until the sun goes down. That's just the way it works.
