Out here in Gosainpada village, life moves at a different pace than in the big cities. We are tucked away in the Salebhadi panchayat, which is part of the Kuchinda block. If you’re coming from Sambalpur, you have to go via Kusumi to find us. Our office is just a simple place in the Mahulapalli area. We started this organic producer company because we saw that local farmers needed a better way to sell what they grow. It’s mostly small plots around here. We deal with everything from seeds to getting the final bags ready for transport. The roads can be a bit rough during the monsoon, so we have to plan things carefully. We don't have a big staff, just a few local folks who know the land and the crops. Sometimes we sit under the big tree near the village square to discuss things when the office gets too hot. People stop by to ask for advice on natural fertilizers or just to see what the current rates are. It’s a community thing more than a business for most of us. We’ve had some good years and some lean ones, but that is just farming. We keep our records in big ledgers and try to stay on top of the rules. It’s not fancy, but it works for the people in this corner of Sambalpur. It keeps our community working together on the same goals.
