Indian Public School

If you head down Khetrarajpur Road towards Remed, you will come across us in Sambalpur. The Indian Public School has been sitting here for quite some time now. It’s a long road and it can get quite dusty when the trucks go by, but inside the school gates, it’s a different world. We have a decent-sized building and a big open area where the kids play. It’s not the most modern place in the world, but it works for what we need. We have the usual classrooms with the blackboards and the wooden benches that have seen better days. The teachers here are mostly people from around Sambalpur who have been with us for years. We don't go in for fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just show up, teach the kids their math and science, and make sure they go home safely. During the lunch break, the whole place smells like different tiffin boxes being opened. It’s a lively time. We spend a lot of our afternoon time in the office, dealing with paperwork or talking to parents who drop by. The weather in Odisha can be quite harsh, so we are always checking the fans and the water coolers. When the day ends and the sun starts to go down over Remed, we close the main doors. It’s a basic, honest way to spend the day, and we are fine with that.
