Living and working at the Riverside Colony in Hirakud is a bit different than the big city life. We are based out of house C-20 here in Sambalpur. It’s a quiet place for the most part, right by the river. You can see the industrial setup from the colony, which reminds us why we’re here. Life moves at its own pace in Orissa. We handle the local operations and coordinate with the factory nearby. Most of us live right here in the colony, so work and life kind of blend together. You might see us walking to the office in the mornings or chatting by the gate. It’s a tight-knit group. We don’t have much use for fancy words or big presentations. We just focus on the day-to-day stuff that keeps the plant running. The weather gets pretty hot in the summer, but the trees in the colony help a bit. It’s an old-school way of doing things, really. Just people doing their part in a small town. We’ve been part of this landscape for a long time. There’s a sense of history in these buildings and the colony streets. It isn't perfect, and the roads can be bumpy, but it’s home for us. We just keep the wheels turning and stay busy with the work at hand. No one is putting on an act here; we’re just getting through the shift and making sure everything stays on track.
