Cora Diamonds

Cora Diamonds is a small place on the ground floor of the City Centre Mall over in Modi Para. Being located inside a mall means we have to deal with the constant mall music and the big crowds on the weekends, but our shop itself stays as a bit of a quiet corner. We do not have a huge amount of space, just enough for the glass display cases and a small back area where we can sit down and look at the stones properly. It is very bright inside the shop because we need the light to see clearly, but sometimes the glare from the overhead mall lights is a bit too much. We spend a lot of our time working with small tweezers and magnifying glasses. It is very slow and careful work. There is a heavy security door and we have to be very mindful of who is coming and going, which is just part of the job when you deal with jewelry. Most of the time it is just one or two of us working here. We keep a handwritten ledger of everything that comes in and out of the shop. It is not really a flashy place despite what we sell to people. We have a small table in the back where we eat our lunch and have a cup of tea. People walk by the window and look in, and sometimes they come inside to ask questions about a specific piece. We just give them the facts.
