J & K WOOL DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING ASSOCIATION

We are the J & K Wool Development and Marketing Association. You can find us located within the EPIP SIDCO Complex over in Bari Brahmana. We share some space with M/S-Kashmir Silk. Being in the industrial complex makes things easier for the kind of work we do with wool. There is always a lot of movement in the SIDCO area, trucks coming and going, and people busy at the different units. Our association focuses on the wool side of things, trying to get the marketing and development side of the trade sorted out. It’s a lot of coordination. We aren't some big corporate entity. We’re more of a group of people interested in making sure the wool industry here has some backing. The office is practical. It has desks and files and not much else. We spend a lot of time talking to producers and figuring out how to get the wool to the right places. Bari Brahmana is a busy hub, so it’s a good spot for us to be reachable. Sometimes the noise from the other units in the complex is a bit much, but that’s just how it is in an industrial estate. We’ve been here for a while and most folks in the textile trade know where to find the Kashmir Silk building. We just do our work day by day, making sure the wool moves along.
