Holy Presentation Convent School

Holy Presentation Convent School is located right along the NH1, on the Jammu Kathua Road in Rajbagh. Being on the highway means we see a lot of trucks and cars passing by all day long. It’s a busy stretch of road, and our gates are a familiar sight for anyone traveling through Kathua. The school has a bit of a sprawling feel to it, with different sections added on as we needed more space over the years. We don’t have a polished corporate image. What we have are classrooms filled with wooden benches and teachers who have been here for a decade or more. The playground is a big open space where the wind kicks up the dust from the highway, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the practicalities of being on a main road, like managing the traffic during drop-off times. The staff room is a busy place where we drink a lot of tea and talk about the upcoming week. We aren't trying to impress anyone with fancy talk. We just focus on keeping the school running, making sure the exams are scheduled, and that the gardens out front don't get too overgrown. It’s a regular school for regular people in the 184143 area. We like being part of the Rajbagh community and seeing the kids grow up year after year.
