Shubham General Kirana Store

Our place, Shubham General Kirana Store, is at Shop No.1 in the village of Mahamadpur Kuori. We are in the Samastipur Taluka and you can find us right near the Hanuman Mandir. It’s a small shop, but we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves for the locals. We sell things like flour, lentils, matches, and sometimes even small household items. The temple nearby brings quite a few people past our door, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays when there are more worshippers. We usually open up early in the morning after I finish my own chores and breakfast at home. The shop floor is just simple concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint one of these days. It is a quiet village life for the most part, though the mornings can be a bit frantic with everyone trying to get their milk and bread at the same time. I spend a lot of my time sitting on a low stool behind the counter, greeting neighbors and weighing out things like sugar or dal on the scale. Sometimes the village kids come in with a few coins for candies or small toys. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the merchandise stacked up where people can see it. It’s a family-run thing and we’ve been here in this spot for years now. We just keep the doors open and do our best to help everyone get what they need for their daily lives.
