Shivam General Store

Our shop is right on Ujiarpur Road, just sitting there for anyone passing through. It is a small place, nothing too big or special to look at from the outside. We sell mostly the daily essentials that families around here need for their kitchens and houses. Some days are slow, especially when it’s hot out, and other times we are running around trying to help three people at once. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If you need soap, flour, or just some biscuits, we probably have it on a shelf somewhere. The road can get dusty with the trucks going by, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first name. It isn't a supermarket, it’s just a general store like any other in the area. We try to keep the lights on late for those getting home from work. Sometimes the stock arrives late, but we do our best. There is no website or anything, just us at the counter waiting for the next customer. It is quiet work but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We just like being part of the street. It’s a simple life and we are happy with that. We don't plan on changing much as long as the neighbors keep coming by for their supplies.
