Ramnath General Store

Ramnath General Store is right here at House No 27 in Nahar Bhagwatipur. If you are walking near the Nahar Durga Asthan, you can’t miss us. It is just a family place where we keep things people need every day. My father started this a long time ago and now we just carry it on. The shop isn't very big but we fit a lot inside. We open up early in the morning, usually when the first light hits the temple nearby. People stop by after their prayers to get a few bits for breakfast or maybe some oil for the kitchen. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the floor. We have bags of rice stacked up near the back and some glass jars with candies on the front counter for the kids. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we sit out front on the bench for a bit. It’s a quiet life here in Bhagwatipur. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. We don't have fancy shelves or anything, just wooden ones that have been here for years. It’s enough for us. If we don’t have something, we try to get it the next time the truck comes through. It’s just how things work in this part of town. We are just a regular shop doing what we do and keeping the shelves stocked with the basics.
