Radhe Shyam Rice Mil

Our mill is situated in Village Kapoor Patti, which is part of the Samastipur district. To find us, you have to go past Post-Koilam. It’s a quiet rural area for the most part, except during the harvest months when everything gets very busy. Radhe Shyam Rice Mil is a local operation through and through. We work directly with the farmers from the surrounding villages. They bring their carts and tractors filled with paddy, and we spend our days processing it. The equipment we use is older but it still gets the job done after a bit of oiling and maintenance. There’s a lot of heavy lifting involved, moving sacks of rice from one corner to the other. My back usually aches by the time I head home. We don't have any polished corporate statements to give you. We just know how to handle grain. The village life is slow, but the work at the mill is constant. We deal with the seasons as they come. Sometimes the monsoon makes it hard to dry the rice properly, and we have to wait for the sun. We are just a small part of the community here in Samastipur. Everyone knows everyone else, so we have to be honest in our dealings. It’s a dusty, loud, and honest way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for quite a long time now with the same crew.
