Kinchin Garden School

Kinchin Garden School is right on Bhola Talkies Road in the Dharampur area of Samastipur. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always noise from the traffic and the shops nearby. Our school building is tucked in there, with a small gate that leads into a courtyard. We don’t have a big garden despite the name, just a few potted plants near the entrance that we try to keep alive. The building is a bit old, and the stairs are narrow, so we have to tell the kids not to run when they are going up or down. Inside, the rooms are crowded with desks and benches because we try to fit in as many students as we can comfortably manage. There isn't much in the way of decoration on the walls, maybe a few charts that the students made. The fans buzz quite a bit when they are on, but they help with the Samastipur heat. Most of the teachers have been working here for years and they know the neighborhood well. Parents often pop in to talk about their children’s progress or to pay the monthly fees. We don’t have a big website or anything, we just rely on people knowing where we are. It’s a practical place where the focus is on getting through the lessons every day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows wider to let the light in and keep going.
