Jai Hanumant Rice Mill Private Limited

Up in Samastipur, in the Tola-Mahuli village area of Mohiuddin Nagar, we have our rice mill. Arbind Kumar Yadav is the one who handles the daily stuff here. If you come by, you’ll hear the loud crashing sound of the rice being processed long before you see the building. It is a very rural spot near Rosera East. We are surrounded by fields, which makes sense since that’s where the paddy comes from. The mill is always filled with the smell of dry husks and raw rice. It is hard work, and your clothes end up covered in white dust by lunch time. We have a few old machines that need a lot of attention, and sometimes we have to stop everything to fix a belt or clear a jam. It is just a group of us from the village working here. We don't have a website or any big advertisements. Most people just know us because they see our trucks moving through the muddy roads during the harvest season. We keep a ledger on a wooden desk and write down everything by hand. The seasons dictate how busy we are; sometimes we are working through the night, and other times we are just sitting around waiting for the next load. It’s a practical business, nothing more. We just process the rice and keep the machines running the best we can.
