Rajeev Kumar Singh runs this branch of ITD Cementation in Sultanpur, Bihar. We are located in the Samastipur district, which is a bit of a drive from the main cities. It is a very different vibe here compared to the big offices. We are surrounded by fields and local houses. Our work is all about the local infrastructure and building projects in this part of the state. The office is simple, just some chairs and a table where we go over the plans for the week. We have a lot of local guys who work with us on the sites. We spend most of our time out in the sun, making sure the cement is poured right and the structures are solid. It is a straightforward life. We don't have many distractions out here. The roads can be a bit rough during the rainy season, which makes getting materials delivered a real challenge sometimes. We just have to plan ahead and hope for the best. People in the village know us well and often stop by to chat. We aren't doing any big advertising or anything like that. We just let the buildings we finish speak for themselves. It is a lot of responsibility to make sure everything is safe and strong, and we take that seriously. Every day brings something new, whether it’s a broken tool or a change in the weather, but we just keep pushing.
