Ajay Traders

If you’re ever down at Ganesh Chawk in Samastipur, you’ve probably passed by Ajay Traders. We are right on Gola Road, which is pretty much the heart of the action around here. It’s a very busy spot with all the traffic from Samastipur Gola Road flowing right past our front door. We spend most of our day moving stock around and talking to people who come in from the surrounding villages. Our shop is packed with all sorts of things, mostly items we trade in bulk, so there isn’t much room to walk around once a new shipment arrives. We aren't fancy people. We wear comfortable clothes and drink a lot of tea while we wait for the next truck to pull up. There’s no big mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes about who owes what. We’ve been in this trade for a long time, so we know the ups and downs of the market. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the crowds at Ganesh Chawk, but other days we don’t even have time to eat lunch. Dealing with logistics and suppliers can be a bit of a mess sometimes, but that’s just part of the job. We like being in Samastipur and being part of the daily bustle on Gola Road. It’s just us, our stock, and the people we see every single day.
