Krishan Kumar Store

Krishan Kumar Store is located in the Ram Nagar area of Nabha, right across from the Chajju Ram Dharamshala. It is a good spot because people staying at the dharamshala often come over when they need a few things. Our store is just a basic neighborhood shop where we keep all the daily essentials. We have sacks of flour, pulses, sugar, and all the small things like matches and soap. I have been running this place for a long time and I know most of the people who live on this street. It is a small room with shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes I have to use a ladder to get things down from the top. It is not a fancy place with bright lights or shopping carts. You just come to the counter and tell me what you need, and I get it for you. I spend a lot of time sweeping the floor because the dust from the road always finds its way inside. There is a small stool behind the counter where I sit when there are no customers. I enjoy talking to the neighbors about how their families are doing or what is happening in the town. It is a quiet life, but it keeps me busy enough. We don't do any advertising; people just know we are here if they run out of salt or tea leaves in the middle of the day. I try to keep the shop open every day except for some holidays.
