Our office is located at number 269 near the Old Bus Stand in the Salem Fort area. It’s a very old part of Salem, and there’s a lot of history in these streets. We are right near the Valluvar Statue stop, and if you look across the road, you’ll see Central Studio. The location is quite central, which makes it easy for us to get around, even if the traffic near the bus stand is a total mess most of the time. The space inside is pretty basic. We have long tables for laying out big architectural plans and a few computers for the engineering side of things. It’s often a bit cluttered with blueprints and old measuring tapes. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. People usually just walk in and we talk over a desk. The heat in Salem can be pretty intense, so the fans are always spinning at full speed. It’s a working office, not a gallery. We spend our days calculating figures and drawing lines, and sometimes we have to head out to site visits in the sun. It’s a lot of practical, everyday work that doesn’t leave much time for sitting around. We like the grit of the Fort area and the fact that we’re right in the middle of all the local action. It feels real and unpretentious to work here.
