Tribal Hospital

Tribal Hospital is out in Sittilingi. It is a very rural area, quite far from the big cities. Because of where we are, the work we do is very basic and essential for the people living in the valley. The building is simple, made of local materials where possible, and it doesn't have any of the flashy stuff you see in city hospitals. We deal with everything that comes through the door, from farming injuries to common fevers. The pace of life here is slow, but the hospital stays busy because we are the main place for many miles. The staff often lives nearby or right on the grounds. We have a small garden where we grow some things. At night, it gets very dark and quiet out here, which is different from most medical places. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we make do with what we have. Most of us are here because we like the community in Sittilingi. The patients are mostly tribal folks who have lived in these hills forever. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes we run low on supplies, but that’s just part of being in a remote spot. We just try to keep the place running every day for whoever needs us. The road to get here is often dusty and long, but it is the life we chose.
