Sri Ayngaran Wood Crafts

You can find us at Plot No.10 in Parkawan Plaza. We are quite close to the T.M.S. Bus Stop, so we see a lot of people getting on and off throughout the day. Sri Ayngaran Wood Crafts is mostly about the smell of fresh timber and the sound of saws. The plaza itself is a bit older, and our unit is usually filled with wood shavings and sawdust by the afternoon. We try to sweep up, but it is a losing battle when you are working with wood all day long. We have a few workbenches that have been around for years, scarred with marks from different tools. It is a bit dark inside the unit, so we have to use bright lamps to see what we are doing when the sun goes down. Most of the guys here have calluses on their hands from the sanding and the carving. We don't have a showroom with bright lights; we just show people what we are working on right there on the floor. Sometimes a bus will idle at the stop for a long time, and the fumes drift in, but we just keep our heads down and work. It is a steady rhythm of measuring, cutting, and fitting things together. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town, just a place where the work is done properly. It's a bit loud and messy, but it's where we spend our lives.
