S.M. Rubber Products

Down here at 9/13, M.G.R. Nagar, right on the 1St Cross Street in Seelanaickenpatty, things stay pretty steady. S.M. Rubber Products is basically just a group of us working with rubber day in and day out. If you walk by, you’ll probably smell the materials before you see the sign. It’s a grit-under-the-fingernails kind of place. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just focus on the machines and the products we’re putting together. The street outside can get a bit dusty, and the neighbors are all local folks we’ve known for years. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit, but our little corner remains much the same. Most of our day is spent making sure the molds are right and the heat is where it should be. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months, but we don't complain much about it. It’s just how the job is. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon getting greasy fixing it. That’s part of the life here. We don't try to be anything we’re not. We’re just a local business trying to make a living in Seelanaickenpatty. We don't have any big speeches to give. We just want to do the work and go home to our families at the end of the day. It is what it is, and we are fine with that.
