S.K.B. Book Shop

We are S.K.B. Book Shop, located at No.137-A on Charry Road. If you are taking the bus, we are right by the Railway Gate Bus Stop. It’s a very convenient spot because the bus stops almost right in front of our door. You can hear the trains passing by quite often since the railway gate is so close. It can be a bit loud, but we have stopped noticing it after all these years. The shop is small and the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. We have to use a small stool to reach the things at the top. It's a bit of a tight squeeze when we have more than two or three people in here at once. We keep a lot of different things shoved into the corners. It’s not the most modern shop you’ll ever see. The floor tiles are a bit worn out from people coming in and out. We don't do much advertising. People mostly just see us while they are waiting for their bus and decide to step in. We spend our time tidying up the books and chatting with the regulars who live around Charry Road. It's a basic setup with an old wooden counter where we take the cash. We don't use fancy computers for everything. We like the way things are. It’s just an honest little book shop serving the people who pass by every day. We open early in the morning and stay until late. That's our life.
