Sk Book Shop

Sk Book Shop is located at 150, Cherry Road in the Agraharam area. It is a pretty straightforward place where we sell books to anyone who walks in. The shop sits right on the main road, so we get a lot of dust coming in from the traffic, which means we are constantly cleaning the covers. We have been at this location for a while and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. We still keep things the old-fashioned way. The shelves are made of dark wood and they are packed tight with all sorts of titles. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what you want right away, but we usually know which pile to look in. We don't have any big corporate backing or anything like that. It’s just us working here every day from morning until late evening. The Agraharam area is usually busy, especially during the festival seasons, and we see all kinds of people coming through. We spend our afternoons sorting through orders and making sure the shop looks decent enough for the customers. There are no fancy decorations or lounge areas here. It’s just a place for books and the people who read them. We use a small desk in the corner for all our paperwork and the phone rings more often than we’d like. But it is a good life and we enjoy being part of the local street.
