Shevaroys Super Market

Our shop is located in the Shevaroys Complex on GH Road in Yercaud. Being up here in the hills is a bit different from running a store in the plains. We get a mix of local people who live here all year and tourists who are just passing through for the weekend. The shelves are always being restocked because people need everything from milk and bread to soap and snacks. It gets quite crowded on Saturday mornings when everyone is out doing their shopping. We try to keep things where people can find them, but sometimes we move stuff around to make space for new stock. The weather here can get quite misty, so sometimes the floor gets a bit damp from people walking in. We spend a lot of time checking dates on packets and making sure nothing is sitting there too long. It’s a small team of us working here. We know most of the regulars by name and we usually have a quick chat while we are ringing up their items. It isn't a massive place, but we try to keep the basics that a household needs. Dealing with suppliers can be a headache sometimes because of the winding roads up to Yercaud, especially when the trucks are late. We just open up early, sweep the front, and get on with the day until it’s time to close up. The view outside is nice, though we usually only see it when we step out to take the trash to the bins.
