Our office is at No 38 on Dr Subbarayan Road here in Salem. It is a straightforward location on a road that sees a lot of traffic during the day. The building itself is an older one, but it serves its purpose for us. Inside, there is a small area where we keep our files and a couple of desks for our work. We don't have any bright signs or flashy lights out front. It’s just a simple door with the number on it. The room is often filled with the sound of typing and the occasional phone call. We have a window that looks out onto the street, so we see the city moving by while we work. The floor is concrete and we have a few rugs here and there to make it feel a bit more comfortable. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that is just part of living in Salem. We usually have a flask of tea ready on the side table. We don't spend much time on aesthetics. The walls have some marks from where we moved the furniture around last year. It’s a real place where real work happens. Most of our day is spent looking through papers and talking to the people who come in. We try to keep things moving as best as we can without making it too complicated. We usually lock up around six and head home to get some rest for the next day.
