Sarvanan Department Store

Sarvanan Department Store is located at 98, Km Nagar in Ayothiapattinam. The name sounds quite grand, but we are really just a local store that carries a bit more variety than the smaller shops. We have been in Km Nagar for several years now. It is a decent-sized space, but we have filled it up with so many things that the aisles are a bit narrow. You have to be careful not to knock anything over when you are walking through. We sell everything from plastic buckets and brooms to rice and lentils. We also have a section for school supplies because there are many families with kids in this part of Ayothiapattinam. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but it is enough to see what you are buying. We don't have any staff in uniforms or anything like that. It is mostly just me and a couple of relatives who help out when things get busy. We spend a lot of time unloading crates from the delivery trucks that stop on the main road. It is hard work and my back usually aches by the end of the shift. We don't do any big advertising or grand openings. People just know we are here at number 98 and they come by when they need to stock up on things for their homes. It is just a regular life here.
