Salem Steel Plant

Our location is at 1-1/221 Kurinji Nagar, right across from Mohan Nagar. People around here know us as Salem Steel Plant, and G. Jayakumar is the one usually in charge of things. It’s a large spot, though it looks a bit weathered from the outside because of the dust. We’ve been here for a long time, dealing with all kinds of metal and steel. The yard is usually full of stuff, and it can get a bit messy when we’re busy with deliveries. We don’t have a polished office with air conditioning or fancy chairs. It’s more of a place where you wear heavy boots and don’t mind getting a bit of dust on your clothes. The noise from the machines can be quite a lot during the middle of the day. We’ve got a small desk near the front where we keep the logs and take the calls when the phone rings. Most of the people who stop by are regulars who have been coming to us for years. We know the folks over in Mohan Nagar too. It’s a busy part of town, and there’s always trucks moving in and out of the gate. We just do our work and don’t worry too much about anything else. It’s a practical environment for a steel place. We’ve got our way of doing things, and it works for us. We've stayed here because it's where we know the people and the land.
