S S S Vegetables

We are over here at 33/3 in Kammalapatti, just outside Dharmapuri. Most days start pretty early because the produce doesn't wait for anyone. S S S Vegetables has been around this spot for a while now. It’s mostly just us handling the crates and making sure things are moved where they need to go. The sun gets quite hot around here by noon, so we try to get the heavy lifting done while it's still cool. Sometimes the crates are heavy and the floor gets a bit messy with leaves and dirt, but that is just how it is when you work with greens and roots all day. We spend a lot of time checking what comes in from the local fields. Some days are busier than others, especially when the harvest is peaking. We don’t have any fancy offices or anything like that. It is just a workspace with plenty of bags and baskets stacked up. People from around the area know where to find us if they need to drop something off or pick up a load. It’s a straightforward job, really. You see the same faces every day and we just keep the flow going. It’s dusty work sometimes, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We also have to keep an eye on the scales to make sure everyone is getting the right amount. It is easy to lose track when five different things are happening at once. The floor is concrete and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We just keep moving.
