Rajammal Hospital

If you are looking for us in Ammapettai, just head toward Jothi Theatre on T.V.K. Road. We are at number 226, which is pretty close to the cinema hall. You can usually hear the sounds from the main road throughout the day. Rajammal Hospital is a local place, and we try to keep it that way. We aren't interested in looking like a big fancy corporation. Our walls are painted a simple color and we have the usual hospital smell of disinfectant and floor cleaner. It is a practical space. Most of the people who come here live just a few streets away. They know us and we know them. Sometimes the waiting area gets a bit full, especially on Monday mornings when everyone seems to have something wrong at the same time. We have a few benches that have been here since the start. The staff here mostly lives nearby too, so they don't have a long commute. T.V.K. Road can get a bit congested when a popular movie is playing at Jothi Theatre, but we manage. It’s just about being part of the neighborhood. We spend our hours checking charts and talking to patients about their families. It’s a basic way of working, but it works for us. No big missions or vision statements on the wall, just people helping people in a building near a theatre. We stay busy with the small things that keep a place running.
