Thirumalai Textiles

Our business, Thirumalai Textiles, is tucked away in Sri Sakthi Nager. We are at 371 A, right by the Puthu Mariamman Kovil in Ponnamapet. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but once you get here, you’ll see the stacks of fabric. Textiles is a heavy job, moving bolts of cloth around and making sure everything is counted right. The air in the shop usually has a bit of lint floating around, but that’s normal for us. We spend our days cutting, folding, and packing. It’s a local operation, and most of the people working here live nearby in Ponnamapet. We know the temple schedule well because of the music and the crowds. It keeps the day interesting. The building we are in is sturdy but old. We don’t spend much on decorations because the fabric provides all the color we need. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow lanes around Sakthi Nager, but we always manage to get things loaded up. It’s a steady rhythm of work. We aren't trying to be a big corporate showroom. We are just a textile place doing our bit. We have our regulars who know where to find us, and that’s plenty for us. Every day is the same mix of hard work and local gossip. We just try to keep the stock moving and make sure the count stays accurate so we don't have any trouble later.
