Paruvayuga Spices

Being right near Mettur Dam means we get a lot of moisture in the air. It’s a good spot for what we do at Paruvayuga Spices. We are located at No-1 in Kolathur. The smell of spices is always hanging around the building. Some days it's turmeric, other days it's something stronger that makes you sneeze. We didn’t start out thinking we’d be doing this for years, but here we are. The locals know where to find us. We get the raw materials brought in and then we spend our days sorting and packing. It’s repetitive work but someone has to do it. The machines are a bit old and they make a lot of noise, but they still run fine if you treat them right. We don't have a big corporate office. It’s mostly just the warehouse and a small desk where we keep the ledgers. We write everything down by hand mostly. It feels more real that way. Sometimes the supply from the farms isn't what we expected, so we have to adjust. We don't make big promises, we just sell what we have. If the stuff isn't up to scratch, we don't put it out. Simple as that. The heat can get pretty bad in the afternoons, so we start early. Most of us live nearby in Mettur. It's a quiet life, mostly focused on the bags and the weight scales. We just keep moving forward.
