National Super Market

If you drive down Cuddalore Main Road in Attur, you’ll find National Super Market in the Pungavadi Puthur area. It’s a big building, but inside it’s just a lot of aisles filled with everyday things. We spend a lot of time walking back and forth, putting things back where they belong because customers tend to leave stuff in the wrong places. The floor tiles are a bit chipped in the corner by the rice bags. We don’t have a lot of staff, so everyone does a bit of everything, from mopping the floor to helping people find where the lentils are. The Pungavadi Puthur area is growing, so we get new faces coming in quite often. The Cuddalore Main Road keeps things busy, and there’s always a line of scooters parked out front. We try to keep the shelves full, but sometimes the suppliers don’t show up on time and we have gaps for a few days. It’s a bit of a headache managing the stock, but we manage. The cooling unit for the drinks makes a loud humming sound that you can hear throughout the store. We just stay busy with the daily chores of running a supermarket, making sure the lights are on and the doors are open when they should be. It takes a lot of effort to keep the place tidy, but we do our best with the time we have.
