Muthayammal Engineering College

We are located at 154/26 Thammanan Road in the Arisipalayam area of Salem. It’s a busy part of the city. This isn't the main campus where the students are, but more of a place where we handle some of the administrative side of the college. The building is right on the road, so it's easy to find if you know the landmark. There's usually a lot of motorcycles parked outside in a messy row. Inside, it’s a bit cramped with all the registers and student records we keep. We have a few staff members who have been here forever. They know where every piece of paper is hidden. It gets a bit hot in Salem, so we have the ceiling fans going full speed most of the year. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We deal with a lot of inquiries and paperwork for the engineering courses. It’s not glamorous work. Sometimes parents come in with questions about admissions or fees. We try to help them out as best as we can without being too formal. There’s a tea stall just a few steps away where we get our morning break. Arisipalayam is a lively neighborhood. We’ve been part of it for a long time. It’s just a regular office doing regular work for the college. We don't make a big show of it at all.
